CHAOS IN KANSAS 2007 - EVENT SUMMARY
What a trip is was. 600 miles each way. But Kansas has to be one of the coolest events if for no other reason than that it is in the middle of virtually nowhere, until you crest over a hill and see this beautifully shaped boardercross track and one HUGE kicker. It's like you've died and gone to mountainboard heaven. New this year was an amazing rail slide and a very cool quarter pipe. I had the priviledge of accidentally launching over the quarter pipe. At least there weren't any snakes on the other side.
Below are some great pics, but you just can't do the event justice with photos alone, you have to experience it. Thanks to Zak, and everyone else (you know who you are) for putting this spectacular event on again.

The morning started out with some nice dirt slides and then we found two Bull snakes while putting up banners. Of course we had to try and put these in JD's tent while he was still sleeping (imagine that) and he cried like a baby. So we just relocated the snakes to a safer location. His sleeping bag. What a baby.

The morning was full of practice sessions and then of coures JD just had to lay down some berm schralpness. Showoff!
Sooner than later some action started and the dirt started flying. Here's Mork just toasting a few other BX participants.

And then once the heats started Dave Stiefvater just had to start ripping it up. Here's Nick Hill hot on his heels. Nick was pretty impressive too.

Below you'll find some Expert Class BX video action thanks to Jack Sobent.
Below you'll find some Pro Class BX video action thanks to Jack Sobent.
Below you'll find some footy of Matt Silva going for a 900 thanks to Emmy. Matt was just killin' it until he dislocated his finger and proved he's pretty tough too.
Mork sliding the NEW slider.
Brandon trying to nose-press the slider. Hmmn...better try it again.
Brandon getting his boardslide dialed in though.
And then of course came the obligatory "All You Can Eat" BBQ and the "All You Can Jump Until The Jump Catches Fire" fire jump. What a night!
