A big thanks goes out to Snowmass for their continued commitment to the US OPEN MOUNTAINBOARDING CHAMPIONSHIPS (the 3rd consecutive at Snowmass). AUSSIE KITEBOARD VIDEO CLIP! - GOSHEN COMPLETELY GOING OFF!
One of the early test riders of the 05 line is completely going off. Goshen Watts of Melbourne, Australia put together a 1 minute video clip of some amazing riding. Can you say 1440s? I don't think I've seen anything that's going to get you more psyched to get out and kiteboard than watching this clip.
Kitepower - Eastern Park Session - 4mg (Opens in Quicktime)
Pro 16 Feedback: "I fitted the Leon Pro deck to a set of 9" Strikers last night - and the board is awesome. So solid, tracks upwind like nothing else, and goes faster over more ground. No problems pulling 720's and getting this thing seriously off the ground. Having a big sess later today."

Jeremy Grant, AR

"I've been riding for about a year now. I'm from CO, but go to school in AR. In the summer I ride ATV trails in CO and during the school year I ride hills on campus at John Brown University and enjoy jumping a ramp I recently built. I love mountainboarding because it gives me a chance to get away, enjoy God's creation, and have a wicked awesome amount of fun!"

Ryan Jones, OR
Apparently Ryan loves to go riding with his dog and a keg.
MOUNTAINBOARDER / MASTER GUITAR BUILDER - MARK SMITH, PA
Mark works at the Martin guitar factory and has been riding for over 7 years.

Ben Ottley - Richmond, VA

"I'm Ben Ottley. I got my first board when I was 11 and really got into it last year. Currently I'm riding a Comp 16, and an old Comp 26. I'm getting the new Leon Pro soon because my board is almost done for. I ride wherever I can like all the bmx coarses/jumps around, anywhere with a nice hill, rail or jump. I have a pretty sick coarse in my back yard with two rails, two big jumps and I'm building more everyday. I board everyday. The only boards I ride are MBS. I do every boardsport out there and mountainboarding is definately one of the best."

Phil Cyphers - Hampton,NJ - Photo Collage
"I'm 16 years old and have been riding mountainboards for four years this summer. I own a MBS Sol 16 and a Razor. I mountainboard as much as possible which is usually everyday. I do a lot of freestyle and downhill. I'm always trying to find the next big hill or the next big jump."
GIVE US THE DIRT! We want your artwork, photos, news, crazyness, strangeness, local events, stickers in odd places, local riding spots, you name it. If it has anything to do with mountainboarding or MBS we'd love to post it. Please send anything cool to Jason Lee for possible inclusion in future Rider eNews.

FRONT-SIDE NOSE ROLL 180!

Step 1: Pre-Wind - Head into the jump centered on your board. Wind your upper body 90 degrees.
Step 2 & 3: Unwind and Shift Weight - Throw your arms around into the direction you want to spin. At the same time shift your body weight from centered to over your front wheel. This will help stick your front tires in place as the rest of your board rotates around them.
Step 4: Ride Out - Now you should be riding out switch. One of the
subtleties of this trick is to ride out straight and not under rotate or over rotate. The faster you go the quicker you'll want to spin.
Variations: Slide 180 and Jump 180 to be covered in future Trick Tips

HEX KEY TAPING FOR QUICK SUSPENSION TWEAKS!
OK - If you want a quick tweak of your Matrix trucks but don't have your complete tool kit on you or you don't want to carry hex keys in your pockets try taping a 4mm hex key to the top of your deck. It's kind of ghetto but it has helped me out at many races. Especially when you are just trying to dial in a course and you don't know if you need a really stiff setup or a more maneuverable set up.
So the next time your at the start gate and need to make that last little tweak you can do it quickly.

Send your Tech Tips or cool ways to tweak your board to jlee@mbs.com and we'll post them in future eNewsletters.

Q: I'm considering getting either a Core1 or Core 8. Can I put Matrix trucks on them later if I want to? I like it that the Core's are really light weight but figure I might want to get more extreme and upgrade later.
Thanks, Lewis Haught
A: Sure. That's the nice thing about the Core 1 and Core 8, they have predrilled holes for for both Matrix and standard skate trucks.
