Cedar Ledge Freeride on the East Side, Canton, PA   Memorial Day weekend (Saturday being the main day)   All ages and abilities.

The mountain board park is behind the minimarket, across a stream.  It would probably be best if the first arrivals came to the house in order to get directions/ a ride/ and settled on the hill.

Directions: Our physical address is RR#1 Box 5948  Canton, PA 17724 Most people will probably be coming from Route 15. On 15, take the Canton/Troy exit onto Route 14.  We are at the junction of routes 14 and 414, approximately 30 miles from the exit.  There is a Pumpin Pantry minimarket (24 hour) at the junction (before that there are very small towns and trees and cow pastures). We live in the white house with the landscaping/flower shop in the front yard. If people are coming from the north, Route 17, they would turn onto route 14 from that direction, also driving about 35 miles, and then driving through the town of Canton before hitting the 14/414 junction.

GRASS BRIGADE - MAY 17th - 18th

"The landkiting event called GRASS BRIGADE will take place at the airport in Havlickuv Brod on 17 - 18th May 2008. There will be a RACING contest on mountainboards and buggys as well as a FREESTYLE exhibition. These races are arranged by ATBACZ association (Czech mountainboarding association) and ACP (Czech powerkiting association) and companies Boneshaker Mountainboards and Landkiting.cz in Havlickuv Brod. This contest is one of the most visited events in the Czech republic, by riders as well as spectators. The top landkiters will meet here and we are sure that this will be worth seeing.

Toys for landkiting will be also displayed here. Kites, mountainboards, buggys, pads etc. Everyone will be able to test them, eventually buy them. Especially the new mountainboard models MBS 2008 will be displayed and ready for testing, including the first appearance of long-expected landkiting model MBS PRO 90 !!!"

BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS BOY SCOUT CAMP - VIRGINIA



The dates of employment are June 15th – August 5th. The position is working at Boy Scout Summer camp in southwest Virginia teaching mountain boarding skills to youth and adults who may or may not have ever had an experience on the board. The program is a part of our Backpacking experience and there is a different group of youth and adults each day for the 6 weeks of camp. There will be about 700 youth and adults who come through the program. The individual would live in the backcountry and be self-sufficient for the most part.

BASIC Qualifications:
- at least 21 years old (male or female)
- be a member of the Boy Scouts of America (If not currently a Boy scout, we will register you at camp)
- be able to work with youth and adults to provide a quality experience
- agree to live by the principles of the BSA
- prefer some first aid training, but not required for the position

CHIGASAKI MOUNTAINBOARD PARK OPENS!   JAPAN

"Today I would like to inform you that the mountainboard park has opened at Chigasaki city, Japan where we, MBS-J is located.

Chigasaki is a small town along the coast, it is on South West of Tokyo, approximately 40 - 50 km away from Tokyo. This town is well known as an origin of surfing and still lots of people visit Chigasaki for surfing as a "Mecca for surfing".

We have negotiated with local residents for two years, and were successful to open small public mountainboard park.

The course is 25 meters long, but as most of the public places prohibits mountainboard, we succeed to have a place to enjoy mountain board freely. Skate park and BMX courses will be built soon together and this park will be a very lively park.

The gentlemen in the center of the attached picture with nice suites is a mayor of Chigasaki city and he's been our understanding person. A guy at right hand side of the mayor with gray jacket is myself."
