AUGUST'S SWEEPSTAKES WINNER - Trent Herbert, SLC, Utah
"Hey there. I’m super psyched that I got chosen! When I got home and checked my email I was just sort of in awe then a couple minutes later it started to sink in that I had won. The terrain that I usually ride is in Tanner Parks gully, it's by my friend's house. There’s a little dirt park set up by some of the guys at Salty Peaks, a local snow/skate/board shop that rides. It's fun to ride grass hills too. But I pretty much like to ride anywhere. Thanks a lot! "

French International Open
"The french international open went really well, lot of fun, good parties despite the cold and wet weather. More than 50 competitors, coming from Russia, USA, Netherlands, Brazil, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium and France of course came to Loge des Gardes for the Basecamp. The international open was the final show, of a week of mountainboarding begun with a french series event, followed by a training camp with lifts, grassy hills, air bag, good kicker and a really fast boardercross...."

James Braid - South Africa
Hi everyone,
Last weekend was the 1st Para flyaway to the lowveld.
On Saturday we flew from Long Tom pass above Sabie. The conditions were typically inverted and we got about 500m ATO. Since the landing is rather limited below launch, we tested the option of flying with mountainboards to make high-speed road landings (in the pass below) possible. ;-) Launch is really easy, just hop on and roll down takeoff. Needless to say, landing is even easier. This technique is particularly useful for lazy pilots who refuse to run on tow, or for those intimidated by the south-side ramp at the Dam. See pictures attached.
Have a good one - James Braid

Phil Cyphers - New Jersey - Boardstand

Nick Maura - Woodstock, VT - Lake Jump
4yr old Leon and his dad from Serbia
DREAM JUMPS AT WINTER PARK, CO

Word has it the competition might be open to mountainboarders next year. For now we can only drool. Click here for information and to perhaps give a ring expressing the fact that we like to compete next year.

NAME THIS CAPTION CONTEST - Front Page News! - In a remarkable coincidence mountainboard legend PT was caught by TSA workers at Denver Airport carrying a suspicious liquid. Not only is this just plain funny, especially if you know PT but imagine the odds of how many people were travelling through DIA that day and they just happen to get a shot of PT, Mrs. PT and child.
Send in your best "photo caption" and win 50 MBS Bucks - 1/2 of which go to PT.
Email caption to jlee@mbs.com with Photo Caption Contest in the subject line.

I am the leader of a small Mountainboarding team in my neighborhood dubbed team "Vertigo" after our local terrain park and this podcast is just one of the things I want to do to show my appreciation for the sport and help its progression. I just wanted to let you know I got mountainboarding on an Ipod podcast. It features a short video with some mountainboarding footage they collected on their own as well as my name and a few tips I gave to the viewers about riding a mountainboard.
